Winter has arrived here in Europe. We're busy finishing off the last projects for 2024 before the Christmas break!
As the year comes to an end I was thinking back to 20 years ago on Belgian National Television. A reporter asked me about the X-Treme mission, and I answered that our mission was to blow up the entire world.
No, we are not a super villain in a movie trying to end the world, we just want to continue creating and supplying inflatables for our beloved customers! As a company X-Treme is slowly but surely achieving its peaceful mission.
We look forward to continuing our mission in the years to come.
Happy 2025!
Squid Game takes over Antwerp
Iconic buildings like the brutal masterpiece Oudaen have a massive and central presence in Antwerp.
We recently worked on an exciting project with Citysmiles to take over the city for the Netflix launch of the Squid Game sequel. We printed 432 vinyl stickers of the famous masked guards to stand in every window. In order to decorate the façade at the top of the building, X-Treme made and installed three giant triangle, circle and square inflatable shapes.
If you’re in Antwerp in December, we recommend taking a look!
Food inflation
You might not believe it but making a tasteful inflatable replica of a French croissant is a difficult task.
Perfect artwork is so important to the success of the project. Our client, Belgium-based agency Vandekerckhove & Devos succeeded in providing great artwork for their customer, Aernoudt bakery, making our job much easier.
The classy giant paper bag was added to increase brand awareness and to improve the wind resistance drastically. We had the added challenge of installing the croissant in various different locations, creating visibility for the brand in many cities, every spot having a particular setting.
Our professional and experienced team worked hard to find solutions for every challenge.
Theatre decor for liars
Performing arts centre for young audiences, hetpaleis, came to us with an exciting opportunity. Creator Suzanne Grotenhuis was putting on the show “Liegen”, with young actors and musicians. Sander Salden and technical producer Evelien Vanden Boer had designed an inflatable stage, they just needed it to be created and brought to life and of course we were more than happy to help! The show dives into the wonderful world of lies, with young people discovering what lying is and how you can get lost in lies.
For information about the show, visit their website. It is perfect for families with children above 6 years.
Christmas fun in Brussels
With its 4 million yearly visitors, Plaisir d’hiver/Winterpret in Brussels is world famous Christmas market. Brewery John Martin wanted to decorate the roof of their wooden bar with a Waterloo battlefield soldier to present the Waterloo beer and a bulky Santa Claus drinking the Gordon’s Xmas beer.
3D inflatables on the roof are a perfect way to redefine the hard lines of a building, container, tiny house, chalet, or any other structure. If you really want to stand out, we can even bring billboards to life with 3D inflatables.
Projection, from the inside out
Jan Jaap is a well-known Dutch – Belgian stand up comedian, cabaret artist and TV presenter. He was planning a tour for the piece “Mijn vlakke land” (or “My Flat Land”) and X-Treme had the pleasure of helping to take the show to the next level. Instead of using a normal, flat projection screen, we worked with Jan to create a hanging, low noise projection sphere, with projection coming from the inside. Pretty cool right?
For information about the show, check out his website.
Even Santa Drinks Coca-Cola
On the Brussels Christmas market you can step inside the house to meet Santa and enjoy a range of other activities. We were able to bring part of the creative concept of advertising agency About Monday for JCDecaux to life.
The 3-meter tall inflatable lighted Coca-Cola bottle, surrounded by four colorful spheres of 1 meter is visible from all sides to bring visitors to the stand.
