How it all started in WW1
During the World War the British and the French troops started to make inflatable tanks to mislead the German observing officers hanging under helium zeppelin.
Groups of military decoys like personnel carriers, tanks, missile launchers, fighter jets, transport airplanes are being observed from the skies to deceive and to mislead the enemy.
For satellites and even drones with cameras these 3D shapes look very realistic and the weaponry used to destroy the decoys cost a lot more than the unmanned inflatables.
