What a summer it was! We’ve all been looking up lately, and not just because we’ve been working on so many out-of-this-world projects. The solar eclipse gave us the perfect excuse to stop for a moment, grab a glass of Château Gonflable wine, and enjoy the view from wherever we happened to be.
And clearly, we’re not the only ones with space on the mind! From giant astronauts and inflatable planets to touring rocket ships, we’ve had a serious run of cosmic creations at X-Treme Creations lately. So, naturally, this newsletter is going full solar system.
There’s plenty to explore, so pour yourself a glass, and enjoy!
The Nibiru Astronauts Land in Romania
When we said 2026 was the year of outer space, we weren’t kidding! And this project is our biggest space mission yet. In fact, it’s so big we’ve split it into two stories. First up: that famous astronaut.
Nibiru is Europe’s newest entertainment destination on the Romanian coast; a summertime universe of music, experiences, and entertainment running from sunset through to sunrise. And for its very first season, the team wanted a larger-than-life mascot to welcome visitors into their world.
For a few months, we worked closely with the Nibiru team to bring their inflatable vision to life. The star of the show is the Nibiru Astronaut, a character that quickly became the face of the festival.
We actually created two versions. The first stands an impressive 12 metres tall at the entrance to the festival grounds, greeting visitors and appearing in countless selfies, group photos, and TikToks. The second astronaut stretches 13 metres wide and takes pride of place above the main stage video screen, watching over the crowds below.
Of course, projects of this scale always come with a few challenges (if you know, you know), but seeing the astronauts in their final home made all the hard work worthwhile.
A big part of what makes these astronauts so striking is the artwork itself. The Nibiru team supplied fantastic high-resolution designs, allowing us to create inflatables that feel incredibly detailed, realistic, and true to the brand.
The festival officially opened on July 16 and generated an incredible response, with over 2 million visitors over just 2 months. It closed for the season earlier this month, entertaining guests with major artists including DJ Snake, Black Coffee, John Summit, TAEMIN, and Busta Rhymes.
Bringing the Nibiru Solar System to life
Ever wanted to wander through the solar system? Come up close with Jupiter, or check out Saturn’s rings? Well now you can!
Alongside the giant astronauts we also brough to life, Nibiru’s very own Solar System.
For their Planet Museum, we created 14 inflatable planets, each designed to become part of a walk-through experience along the promenade. The eight planets you already know and love, plus six unique new planets. They’re illuminated individually, creating a completely different atmosphere once the sun goes down.
It was another pretty big project for the team, with each planet needing to be carefully produced and finished to look as impressive up close as they do from a distance.
And because they’re inflatables, there’s a practical side to all that scale too. Despite their size, they can be packed down, transported and installed, making them a great fit for a large seasonal destination like Nibiru.
The Planet Museum became a part of the Nibiru experience in Costinești for the summer, giving the 2 million visitors the chance to wander through the Solar System without having to leave the Romanian coast.
The Rocket Ship Begins Its Tour
Some projects are made for one stage. Others are made to travel.
We always love working with the creative minds behind Brok Decor. They come to us with ambitious stage ideas, and together we figure out how to turn those ideas into something that works in the real world, and looks awesome while doing it.
This completely custom stage piece made its first appearance in Valencia earlier this year at the Love the 90s Festival and I Love Reggaeton Festival.
Stretching 16 metres, the rocket is designed to fit perfectly around the main screen on stage, transforming it into a giant space ship. When creating the stage we split it into 6 separate pieces to ensure it fits the screen seamlessly.
The team kicked off the tour in Spain, with multiple shows across the country before the rocket heads across the Atlantic to South America next year.
It’s a pretty impressive way to start a tour, and we’re looking forward to seeing where it lands next.
We love working with the creative minds at Brok Decor!
The World Arrives at Wintercircus
When you've got a huge, historic building to work with, the answer is sometimes to go big!
At the end of August, we installed a giant 6-metre inflatable globe in the iconic Wintercircus in Ghent for their innovation and scale up congresses. Suspended beneath the roof of the central arena, the globe now hangs above the public square, catching the eye of anyone walking through the building.
The project had actually been on the Wintercircus team's bucket list for a while, so it was great to finally see it hanging in place. The timing couldn't have been better either, with a busy September booked including their community season opening and the AI & the Future of Education debate.
For a space as large as Wintercircus, the globe needed to make an impact. A blower-driven inflatable was the perfect solution. Big enough to fill the space, lightweight enough to hang overhead, and easy to install without major structural works.
The detailed artwork really helped bring it to life too. Whether you're looking up from the ground floor or down from one of the upper levels, it's hard to miss.
Sometimes a giant inflatable globe is exactly what a building needs.
We brought a little extra sunshine to Germany.
Some projects are all about the final visual impact. Others are about solving the challenge of how to get there. This one was both.
The original plan from K8 Design was ambitious: create a giant glowing 14-metre sphere that would shine brightly every evening, and remain suspended outdoors for weeks as part of a public art installation in Germany. Positioned within a steel framework, the glowing sphere acts as a striking centrepiece for a temporary installation at the historic Water Gardens of Grube Reden in Schiffweiler, Germany.
After discussions with K8 Design and the crew at Full Scope GmbH about engineering possibilities and risk mitigation we settled on a 10-metre version. This allowed us to improve stability, reduce wind-related risks, and ensure the installation could safely perform outdoors for an extended period all while still giving the same giant, dramatic effect.
While it may look simple from a distance, creating a giant inflatable sun came with plenty of challenges. The sphere needed to be lightweight enough to suspend, strong enough to withstand changing weather conditions, and translucent enough to glow evenly once illuminated from within.
The final design uses specially selected fabric and an internal truss structure that supports the shape while allowing lighting equipment to be installed inside. A series of reinforced access points, heavy-duty zippers, and custom attachment systems were incorporated to ensure the sphere could be assembled, maintained, and safely operated throughout the installation period.
One of the biggest considerations was wind. Because of its size, the sphere had to be carefully engineered and installed under very specific conditions. Once inflated, however, the blower-driven structure creates an impressive illuminated form that appears to float effortlessly within the steel framework.
Projects like this are a great example of what happens when artists, designers, engineers, and fabricators work together. What started as an ambitious concept became a 10-metre glowing sun that now shines over the Water Gardens of Grube Reden.
Not a bad way to brighten up September.
Adding extra moonlight to We Can Dance
A summer festival on the Belgian coast? It doesn’t get much better than that!
Top it off with a rave tent that is out of this world…literally!
The crew at We Can Dance rented our half-moon as the centrepiece for their stage, Bloody Moon. Inspired by the moon, the tides, and the magnetic pull between sea and sound, the 15-meter-high dome stage was the place to be!
Built in a circular form, Bloody Moon stage pulled the crowd into one collective flow together. Sound at the centre, people surrounding it from every angle, energy flowing endlessly through the space.
You can find the half-moon plus plenty of other inflatables in our rental collection!
