The birth of Inflatable Dan

After 20 years of progress, X-Treme Creations is happy to announce the birth of Inflatable Dan!

After 20 years, it was time for a mascot! Someone who could represent the voice of X-Treme. After a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (actually just a few brainstorming sessions and a couple of sleepless nights), Inflatable Dan was born.

Inflatable Dan is more than just a mascot. He’s a clever guy (even though he sometimes has a bloated feeling), but above all, he’s the sweetest and funniest of all inflatable characters. This airy little fellow will now explore the world of advertising and communication. Inflatable Dan wants to connect people, encourage co-creation, and above all, promote air as the essence of all life. “That’s why we love selling air!” says Suyin at X-Treme. “But we wrap it up beautifully,” adds Dan. Emilie Lauwers (°1984) is the designer behind Inflatable Dan. She studied graphic design and typography at Sint-Lucas University College in Ghent, Belgium. Her portfolio includes corporate identity designs for various clients in the artistic world, both nationally and internationally. She often combines her unique, evocative visual language with clean, grid-based typography.

With drawing as her first passion, she has illustrated over 20 children’s books for various publishers. Recently, she has shifted her focus back to sketching. Sometimes she steps away from printed materials to concentrate on video projects, or swaps small surfaces for murals, large canvases, or live drawing.

Having grown up in a theatrical environment, she has also worked as a scenographer for companies such as Junge Kammeroper (Cologne), Purpur (Austria), Flanders Operastudio, and the Flemish Opera (Belgium). Additionally, she has photographed theater productions for companies such as L’acteur et l’écrit and Rideau de Bruxelles.

Always in search of creative challenges, Emilie believes in magic and never stops playing.
